Though the level of national technology located in Gielinor seems predominately to RS gold be about that of the 15th or 16th centuries (already a span admittedly later than that of many fantasy RPGs), with cannon-topped castles and Renaissance garb, a number of striking anachronisms are immediately apparent. For example, many houses and buildings have been equipped with sinks which provide flowing water - an improvement that, in the real world, didn't come until centuries following the presumed time period! That may, of course, have been orchestrated by magic, but it would nevertheless have an enormous effect on society as a whole.

Other examples can easily be identified - among the prime offenders in this area is the sort of absurd modernity of machines such as those from the Elemental Workshop (these, of course, are powered by magic, but their styles are completely incoherent with the rest of the world). Less concrete but still concrete - and even though not quite anachronistic, per se - are the high number of real-world names found in Gielinor, even if there are not any reasons to do so. If Gielinorian humans did come from Earth, a theory which I dislike myself but which seems possible, there could have lived vestiges of"early" titles, but they'd probably be greatly changed and not in ordinary usage.

Personally, I love to think that the titles introduced to people are anglicized according to the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (watch The Lord of the Rings, Appendix 6); for example, in the former book, the early Numenorean title Kalimac was turned to Meriadoc, a name with the exact same texture to English-speaking ears, and its nickname"Kali" to"Merry". Thus, characters in Gielinor are awarded common real-world names so as to sound familiar, instead of the common Gielinorian titles they have.

Oh, by the way: although I personally dislike anachronism and favor a more Dark Ages-esque setting, and equally dislike the usage of real-world names in dream worlds, this is not a rant about these things but rather an attempt at a discussion concerning them.

Hello, so I was googling some random things and I found that on a forums. It rather related to me a fantastic deal so that it kinda struck me hard. After reading, Im still not likely to stop Runescape or anything but yeah I must remember to limit myself. Wow... This guy says he plays on buy OSRS gold average 10 hours a day. Thats a lot even for me. Im not certain if hes exaggerating on some of the stuff or not... (Can some1 actually play that long for a long weeks on end?)
